Catching up, and was really impressed with Yanhao Li - he moves really well across the ice, I didn’t see a bunch of choppy crossovers, good jump technique… spins were an issue today, but really looking forward to seeing where he goes in the future!

Shteyngart of Canada is next…and I can’t wait for Ted Barton to announce his music - “Digga Digga Doo”!!! 🤣

Too bad about the combo Miss but a jolly dancer/mover.

Noah Bodenstein is so tall now! I enjoyed his performance, but don’t know that he’s ever put the technical together. Is this his last year on the JGP?

Looks like he's turning 19 this season, so this would be his last year as a junior.

Michael has started his freshman year at UC Berkeley so it's a balancing act for him now (his coach is based in Portland, OR).
Glad he got a season best here (much better than his SP in Bangkok).

I woke up just in time to see Yanhao Li (and then switched to the dance replay). Nice to see the pressure from having medaled isn't getting to him. Spin issue aside, that was a really beautiful skate.

Tao skated to the Mendelssohn violin concerto, right? I hate when the composer is not included in the ISU bios!

I really like and enjoy Pitot. Solid, strong skating and usually delivers quite well.

I’m in love with Yanhao Li‘s skating. Sublime! His score was higher than I thought it would be with a botched spin and no triple axel, but I’m glad the judges appreciate his other qualities.

Martynov looking quite good. I was worried that he was injured this season, Triple axel was great! Too bad about doubling the back half of the combo. Needs more expression. Spins are fine but too Russian (Slow).

Michael Xie has so many nice qualities. I hope he can develop mental strength for competition. Mark said he landed two nice triple axels in the warm up…but that jump was unfortunately like a deer in the headlights in the competition.

Thought the panel would ding Lim more on the GOE for his triple lutz, which looked pretty off to me. Stiff, two foot landing with turn out. Made me wonder who was on the judging panel.

Also surprised how low the Chinese skater’s score was because I thought he showed very good basics and quality. Only popping the triple axel.
